Being part of a new office from the beginning is a unique opportunity for any planning professional five years into their career, but when the company in question is NLP, the decision is an easy one to make.
As the largest independent planning firm in the UK, I was drawn to NLP not only for its quality of projects and high profile clients, but also its strong commitment to cross office working and the ability the firm has to control its own destiny, riding out the economic storm with undeniable success.
I have not been disappointed. Since opening the office it has been all hands to the pump, and from farms to funeral directors, academies to accommodation and cinemas to supermarkets, I have had the opportunity to refine existing skills whilst developing a new range of experience.
NLP is a truly professional company, from Director to Graduate level, and with in-house graphics and GIS capabilities, all the tools are in place to do a really great job. It’s been a busy few months at the beginning of our success here in Leeds, and I’m looking forward to more interesting projects as the office continues to grow.
Being a small office hasn’t dampened the social scene, and with a new office to promote we’ve all been busy at networking dinners and drinks events. My new colleagues from across the firm have been incredibly welcoming and with a range of social events planned I’m fast getting to know everyone.
