As part of ongoing work with Hartlepool Borough Council tackling areas of housing market failure, NLP has helped secure the successful confirmation of a Compulsory Purchase Order in the Borough.
Working alongside the Council, NLP Director, Philip Barnes provided expert housing market evidence at the CPO Inquiry. Despite the changing government emphasis on housing market renewal, the Inspector found that the case for CPO should be confirmed without modification. This was despite 72 professionally represented objectors at the Inquiry.
This is the third successful CPO inquiry in Hartlepool where NLP has given evidence. Both of the previous schemes have now been implemented, providing a mix of popular new housing and attracting working families back into the area.
