50 Years

Delving into the Past

September 14, 2011

NLP were proud to sponsor the launch of the 2011 Tyne & Wear Heritage Open Days.  The Open Days took place between 8th and 11th September and were formally launched by the Lord Mayor of Newcastle, local historian and TV personality John Grundy and NLP director Iain Rhind.

2011 marks the 10th anniversary of the Open Days and celebrates Tyne and Wear’s vast architectural and culture heritage by offering free access to properties that are usually closed to the public or charge an admission fee.  Over the weekend a diverse range of more than 200 historic buildings and activities will be taking part.

We are delighted to be involved in the 10th anniversary of the Heritage Open Days. Heritage matters today not only for its own sake but importantly as a driver for economic activity and change. Rather than a burden on development, heritage assets will more often than not be the catalyst for unique and inspiring developments which add rather than reduce value.
