Localism Act: Planning goes Local

November 15, 2011

Royal Assent for the Localism Bill means that the new Act's provisions that give planning powers to businesses, as part of local communities, will start to come into force; they should all be in place by April next year.

Businesses will be key to getting many new neighbourhood forums off the ground, and the new neighbourhood development plans and orders in place.  We look forward to working with our clients, councils and neighbourhoods in the new planning regime that aims to be pro-growth and pro-sustainable development.
