NLP has submitted a package of applications for major improvements to St Fagans: National History Museum. The proposals include the refurbishment and extension of the Grade II listed museum building, a new BREEAM Excellent multi-functional building and an open-air archaeology zone. The proposals have been sensitively designed to respond to the site's complex issues including heritage (development within the Grade I Registered Park & Garden and alterations to a listed building), ecology, landscape, transport and archaeology.
The submission on behalf of National Museum Wales is the culmination of extensive work with Cardiff Council, Cadw, the Design Commission for Wales and the local community. This has resulted in a robust and credible set of proposals which we hope will be supported by the Council. The project is set to transform St Fagans into a world-class national museum of history and NLP is now working to secure planning permission at the earliest opportunity.
