On behalf of CBRE Investors, NLP has secured planning permission for the redevelopment of Unit A at the Arnison/Mercia District Centre, Durham. Members unanimously supported the scheme, that will see around 5,700 sqm gross new retail floorspace built over two floors, for occupation by up to three separate operators.
This development will not only strengthen Arnison/Mercia as a District Centre, but will also enhance the role of the centre in serving existing and planned new communities on this side of Durham.
An associated application has also been approved for a new mezzanine floor within Unit Four, to enable Halfords, who currently occupy Unit A, to relocate within the Centre. Veretec are the project architects.
