NLP has been appointed to provide further economic support to Cheltenham, Gloucester and Tewkesbury Councils to inform their emerging Joint Core Strategy. This study, which will apply NLP’s WORKspace framework, will include the preparation of updated employment land forecasts and a review of the employment land monitoring undertaken by each of the authorities. NLP will also provide advice on the integration between economic growth and housing requirements in the area.
This work follows on from an Employment Land Review NLP undertook for Cheltenham Borough Council in 2007 and a Review of Employment Land Reviews in 2009.
The commissioning of this study highlights an appreciation on the part of the Joint Core Strategy team of the importance of the planning system in steering economic recovery. We are very pleased to have the opportunity to provide further advice at this critical time of economic recovery of LDF preparation.
