NLP has been appointed by National Museum Wales to advise on a planning strategy and support the delivery a £20 million project to transform the visitor experience at St Fagans: National History Museum. The project 'Making History at St Fagans' includes the refurbishment and extension of the Grade II listed museum building, a new BREEAM Excellent multifunctional building, and a new open-air archaeology zone. The site raises complex planning issues including heritage (development within the curtilage of the Grade I listed St Fagans Castle and Grade I Registered Park & Garden), ecology, landscape, transport and archaeology.
We are delighted to have been selected to work on this prestigious project. Alongside our strong record on heritage projects, our work at St Fagans will further define us as market leaders on major cultural and tourism projects. We look forward to making the new vision for the museum a reality.
