NLP’s Industrial strength advice

December 6, 2011

Two further Core Strategies underpinned by Employment Land Reviews prepared by NLP have been found to be sound.  Rossendale Borough Council's Core Strategy was approved in November 2011, with its employment land allocations and site protection policies informed by NLP's ELR.

Meanwhile, the Report on the Examination into Bassetlaw's Core Strategy and Development Management Policies DPD concluded that the Council had arrived at its employment land requirement in the plan after careful consideration of a comprehensive and up-to-date evidence base, including sub-regional and local assessments, which was PPS4 compliant. The Inspector concluded that: 'the employment targets in the plan are soundly based and provide clear guidance on the amount of additional employment land that needs to be identified in the Site Allocations DPD' .

We are delighted that our approach to undertaking Employment Land Reviews has once again been found to be robust, this time by two independent planning inspectors, and that our work has helped to deliver the desired outcomes on behalf of two important public sector clients.
