Stoke on Trent Retail Capacity

October 24, 2012

NLP and Lunson Mitchenall have completed for Capital Shopping Centres a report assessing future retail capacity in Stoke-on-Trent. The report shows there is limited scope for new retail floorspace in Stoke-on-Trent and calls into question the current evidence base underpinning planning policy for the city centre. The report finds that the current evidence base is out of step with the economic climate and needs updating. The findings cast doubt over the potential for major new retail floorspace in Stoke-on-Trent in the foreseeable future and question the viability of the City Sentral scheme.
