Following a successful recent community consultation exercise, NLP has submitted a planning application on behalf of Terrace Hill for a new foodstore and petrol filling station in Skelton, East Cleveland.
Over 90% of respondents in the consultation exercise indicated their support for the scheme. This reflects the currently limited choice in foodstores serving the East Cleveland area, and the scope for the development to improve the accessibility of such stores to local residents.
Our plans will encourage shoppers to stay local, reducing the need to travel to stores as far away as Middlesbrough, and we’re delighted that the East Cleveland community has backed them.
It is anticipated that the application will be determined by Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council in September. If granted permission, it is anticipated that the store would be open by Christmas 2012, creating over 200 new jobs for local people.
