NLP has secured planning permission for a Drug & Alcohol Support Clinic in Workington town centre, Cumbria, on behalf of Greater Manchester West Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. The Clinic responds to the need to provide a local service for the community and will avoid residents having to travel to Whitehaven to access drug and alcohol prevention and rehabilitation support.
Despite the large number of objections to the proposed Clinic, including a petition of 500 signatures, NLP successfully demonstrated that the Clinic would be unlikely to result in any harm to public health or give rise to criminal and antisocial behaviour.
This represents a fantastic opportunity to provide a much needed service in the local Workington community, whilst bringing a redundant building back into productive use.
