NLP has successfully represented Wind Prospect Developments Limited in protecting their planning permission for 18 wind turbines in Northumberland.

Following the grant of planning permission for the wind turbines an adjoining landowner proposed a development of 21 chalets, a leisure complex and equestrian centre. Wind Prospect Developments Limited was concerned the tourism development was contrary to prevailing planning policy and could potentially be prejudicial to the operation of their wind farm.

NLP successfully represented Wind Prospect Developments Limited through both the planning application and subsequent appeal.

In dismissing the tourism proposals the Inspector confirmed the development to be in an unsustainable location and would have a harmful impact on the character of the countryside. Economic benefits advanced by the appellant were also found to be insufficient to outweigh the policy conflict.
