In recognition of the opportunities created by the Localism Bill and the increasing importance of economic arguments in influencing planning decisions, NLP were appointed to develop an Economic Toolkit for a major national house builder.
The Toolkit is a high level economic impact model, constructed by NLP. It enables the client to scope up the potential economic benefits of a proposed development to help inform consultation at the pre-application stage.
The outputs of the model provide a valuable evidence base to help generate early support for a scheme. They provide the starting point of the economic case for residential development, to be supported by additional site-specific analysis for those schemes that progress to full planning applications.
