NLP advised the London Borough of Lewisham Local Education Partnership on the planning strategy for developing new schools in the first wave of the Government’s Building Schools for the Future (BSF) Programme. Sedgehill was one of those schools and is located on Metropolitan Open Land (MOL). As part of the preparation of the application a search of potential alternative sites was undertaken to ensure that the existing site (given its MOL designation) was the most appropriate.
The scheme was developed to ensure that the impact upon the MOL was minimised.
Outline planning permission was achieved and the proposals were subsequently developed as part of the BSF process. The school has now opened providing modern education facilities for local children.
