NLP has carried out two important research studies into housing market trends in the Nottingham City Region.
Private Rented Sector
This study explored the private rented sector (PRS) across the Nottingham Core HMA, including a survey of landlords and tenants. Although the level of private renting has increased over the past decade, until the study there was little evidence on the underlying factors driving the market. The study provided an understanding of the PRS sector and the different sub markets within it. The findings from the study provided the evidence needed to support the development of policies and strategies to utilise the sector in the future.
Dwelling Size Research
This study investigated the relationship between projected changes in household size and the size of dwellings required. It identified a range of policy interventions and practical planning tools for shaping the mix of new housing without harming deliverability.
