NLP prepared Planning Briefs to form part of the Council’s Outline Business Case to secure Government funding as part of the Building Schools for the Future (BSF) Programme for the redevelopment, or partial redevelopment, of 12 school sites within the Borough.
The briefs offer advice about the constraints and opportunities of the sites, set out guidelines for development and present the requirements for any future planning application.
Heritage issues, flood risk and the impact upon open land/playing fields were common themes throughout the Briefs. Most required detailed negotiation with various consultees, such as the Environment Agency, English Heritage and Sport England, in addition to engagement with local residents.
NLP's Graphic Design team designed a theme for the project, desk top published the planning summaries and designed exhibition material for the consultation events at each school site. The consultation process was also coordinated by NLP.
