Northumberland County Council has granted planning permission for a new state of the art Specialist Emergency Care Hospital proposed by Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. The hospital is set to be the first in the country and will have emergency care consultants on site 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Through the application of a GIS model, running nearly 20,000 separate calculations, NLP helped define the most equitably accessible geographic area and select the most appropriate site.
NLP led the consultant team in preparing and negotiated the planning application and dealt with:
• Public consultation and engagement;
• The preparation of an Environmental Impact Assessment; and
• The co-ordination of the planning application.
