Transatlantic Fibre Optic Cable Landing Stations, Nr. Land's End

On behalf of Penwith District Council, NLP prepared strategic guidance on the requirement for fibre optic cable landing stations on the Land’s End Peninsula.

Faced with the challenges and opportunities posed by exponential growth in internet activity, NLP advised the Council on their plans for ‘the Digital Peninsula’.

This included setting criteria to be applied in considering the locations for new cable landing stations to connect with the global data transmission network, taking into account the Heritage Coast and Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

NLP’s advice has been adopted by the Council as Supplementary Planning Guidance.
