West Suffolk Infrastructure Study

NLP undertook a joint Infrastructure and Environmental Capacity Appraisal on behalf of Forest Heath and St Edumundsbury Councils.

Considering different scenarios for housing growth up to 2031, the study identified potential infrastructure requirements, ranging from arts and cultural facilities to the transport network.  Using GIS, physical constraints were mapped to derive an environmental capacity for settlements within the boroughs.

NLP also considered potential delivery mechanisms for infrastructure and assessed the implications for future policy.

The study was tested at the Forest Heath and St Edmundsbury Examinations in Public and was considered to be a sound and credible evidence base to support the respective Local Development Framework Core Strategy documents.
