NLP has led the preparation of a strategic framework to guide future investment and development at Witton Castle County Park.
The Park, already a tourist destination, contains 14 separately listed buildings and structures including the Grade II* listed Witton Castle. Additionally, the Park falls within an Area of High Landscape Value.
To ensure a sustainable, viable, future for the Park NLP, in conjunction with conservation architects, prepared a strategy incorporating 375 holiday lodges and caravans, together with a leisure hub. Investment to the Castle and wider Park are also proposed, including increased public access.
Local public consultation undertaken by NLP confirmed over 90% support for the master plan and, as such, the scheme has proceeded to a planning application.
