NLP has submitted a planning application for ‘Nelson's Ship in a Bottle' artwork to Greenwich Council.
The artwork by Anglo-Nigerian Yinka Shonibare MBE, features a 1:30 replica of HMS Victory inside a giant bottle, and has been installed on the fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square for the past 18 months. It is proposed that the artwork is relocated to a new site in front of the new Sammy Ofer Wing at the National Maritime Museum in the heart of the Maritime Greenwich World Heritage Site.
Donations to the Art Fund are currently being sought for its relocation. Further details can be found on the following websites:
